The Building Community Power program is supporting Ottawa communities to be part of the clean energy future.
You can help us:
- Increase the uptake of renewable energy technologies across Ottawa
- Identify and encourage local champions of clean energy
- Pool resources in a community to maximize clean energy opportunities
Ways communities are involved:
- Instigating renewable energy projects in their region
- Writing news articles on clean energy with our volunteer writing team
- Hosting our workshops on clean energy opportunities
- Engaging more stakeholders in their community
Top Ways to Green Your Power:
- Install solar panels on your roof
- Invest in renewable Energy as a community
- Buy Bullfrog Power (green electricity source)
Top Ways to Green Your Home:
- Get an Energy Audit
- Insulate you attic, walls and basement as well as hot water tank and pipes
- Install a programmable thermostat
- Replace light bulbs with CFLs
- Hang clothes to dry
