Building Community Power

The Building Community Power program is supporting Ottawa communities to be part of the clean energy future.

You can help us:

  • Increase the uptake of renewable energy technologies across Ottawa
  • Identify and encourage local champions of clean energy
  • Pool resources in a community to maximize clean energy opportunities

Ways communities are involved:

  • Instigating renewable energy projects in their region
  • Writing news articles on clean energy with our volunteer writing team
  • Hosting our workshops on clean energy opportunities
  • Engaging more stakeholders in their community

Top Ways to Green Your Power:

  1. Install solar panels on your roof
  2. Invest in renewable Energy as a community
  3. Buy Bullfrog Power (green electricity source)

Top Ways to Green Your Home:

  1. Get an Energy Audit
  2. Insulate you attic, walls and basement as well as hot water tank and pipes
  3. Install a programmable thermostat
  4. Replace light bulbs with CFLs
  5. Hang clothes to dry
