Ecology Ottawa’s Clean Energy Petition, Summer/Fall, 2011
We are currently on the brink of a huge breakthrough in clean energy, clean air, green jobs and fighting climate change in Ontario, but we are also at risk of losing the momentum and getting cut off at the knees just when we are getting started. Thanks to the Green Energy and Green Economy Act that Ontario adopted less than two years ago, clean energy is finally taking off. We are creating thousands of new clean energy jobs and we’ve successfully reduced our use of coal by 90 % in less than a decade. We need to maintain this momentum and make Ontario a leading example in renewable energy production that it is poised to become!
