Ecology Ottawa’s Annual Dinner a sold out success

December 2, 2011

Our annual dinner on Thurs. Nov. 10, was sold out with over 280 people purchasing tickets. Thanks to everyone who attended and to all the wonderful volunteers who made the event a success.

Graham Saul, the chair of Ecology Ottawa, gave a great speech at the event, detailing our organization’s vision and priorities. Mayor Jim Watson was the keynote speaker and thanks to his office for providing a copy of his speech to share with you.

Local author and musician Phil Jenkins also performed at the dinner and he wrote a great article in the Ottawa Citizen afterward.

City councillors Rick Chiarelli, David Chernushenko, and Diane Holmes all attended the dinner, as did Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services Madeleine Meilleur. Councillor Keith Egli was not able to attend, but he purchased a ticket and asked us to donate it to a worthy volunteer.

All proceeds raised from the dinner will fund Ecology Ottawa’s important outreach and education on environmental issues, working to make Ottawa the green capital of Canada.
